Dip-A-Palooza: Dip Recipe Ideas For A Work Party
Recently, I organized a “Dip-A-Palooza” at work for my department colleagues. What started as a simple, much-needed, break in the day has turned into a monthly extravaganza (cue jealousy).
Dips are easy to make and delicious to eat! Not only are there endless options of dip recipe ideas, but also allows for easy transportation for those commuters. Plus, it is almost guaranteed that every co-worker will participate.
If you are wondering what went down at my first annual “Dip-A-Palooza” here are the details:
WHO: Colleagues in my immediate department and supporting staff (all in all, about 20 total folks were invited).
WHAT: “Dip-A-Palooza” (exactly like it sounds…everyone responsible for bringing in a dip and correlating dipper).
WHERE: I rented out a conference room that could hold up to 20 people. Plus it was an excuse to actually get up and away from my desk.
WHEN: Scheduled for the last day of the month (i.e. Tuesday, September 30th).
WHY: Because everyone loves dip! And it offers a perfect lil mid-day break to relax, have a little fun, and NOT talk about work.
I recommend that there is one central organizer to keep track of everything such as who is bringing what. Luckily, there were no double-dips (get it…no two dips of the same kind).
Are your taste buds watering? Here are some of the dips that were featured at the first annual “Dip-A-Palooza”:
- Guacamole
- Salsa
- Hummus
- Buffalo chicken
- Caramelized onion
- Olive tapenade
- Greek yogurt dip
- Caramel (for apples)
- *Cookie trio (snicker doodle, PB choco chip, nutella)
*This is what I brought – the Nutella was something I created on my own the snicker doodle and PB choco chip recipe is from Jessica at How Sweet It Is (she has an awesome blog by the way).
It helps to have a variety: hot, cold, sweet, savory. Don’t forget to have someone bring plates, napkins, and utensils!
