3 Spiked Milkshake Recipes You’ll Love
This past weekend, my roommate and I held our annual Fall Festivity. Castaway pumpkin decorations from my parents’ house adorned the fireplace, pumpkin candles were lit on practically every surface possible, and we made chili and cornbread. What made this year was that we decided to have a theme with our drinks: spiked milkshakes!
I got my hands on some delicious spiked milkshake recipes that use Deep Eddy Vodka and whipped these treats up in our blender. Let me tell you – they were a huge hit!
Ready to make some adult milkshakes of your own? Here’s the three spiked milkshake recipes we used:
Chocolate Cranberry Milkshake
(Serves approximately 4)
1 cup Deep Eddy Cranberry Vodka
1 cup Chocolate ice cream
¼ frozen cranberries
1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
½ cup milk
½ cup ice
Blend all of the ingredients together in a blender until smooth. Pour mixture into glasses and serve. Tip: If you want to get a little bit fancy add fresh cranberries onto a toothpick and garnish with a sprig of mint. Enjoy!
Chocolate Caramel Milkshake
(Serves approximately 4)
1 cup Deep Eddy Original Vodka
1 cup chocolate ice cream
½ cup caramel sauce
½ cup ice
¼ cup milk
¼ cup coffee liqueur
Microwave the caramel sauce in a small microwave save bowl for 10 seconds, or until softened enough to mix. Pour all of the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Pour the mixture into glasses and serve. Tip: Coat your glass with a bit of the caramel sauce and sprinkle shaved chocolate on top. Enjoy!
Chocolate OREO Cookie Milkshake
(Serves approximately 4)
1 cup Deep Eddy Original Vodka
½ cup chocolate ice cream
1 package of six OREOs
½ cup milk
½ cup ice
Crush all six Oreo Chocolate Sandwiches in a small bowl until crumbled. Add all of the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Pour the mixture into glasses and serve. Tip: You can top with boozy whipped cream. Using a cold bowl and mixer, mix 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream with your favorite liquor and whip until it’s light and airy. Add a dollop of whipped cream to your glass and then sprinkle crushed OREOs on top! Enjoy!
Along with these recipes we also set out the following five flavors of Deep Eddy Vodka: Lemon (my personal fav!), Cranberry, Grapefruit (this one went the fastest!), Sweet Tea, and Original. We also provided soda water, tonic water, and lemonade that we used as our mixers.
Throughout the night our guests were mixing up all sorts of new flavored concoctions. All of the Deep Eddy Vodka flavors are gluten-free, use natural ingredients and are less than 70 calories per serving, so it was a great liquor option for some of our health-conscious friends.
By the way – if you’re ever in Austin, be sure to check out Deep Eddy Vodka Distillery & Tasting Room! One of our editors paid them a visit last winter and had such a great time.
Disclosure: We received Deep Eddy Vodka samples for review purposes, but all of the opinions expressed in this post are ours alone.
